Recherche

Mechanical propertiers of nano-objects (FCC metals and semiconductors) using atomistic methods (classical molecular dynamics and DFT): onset of plasticity in free defect nanostructures, brittle to ductile transition in silicon at low size, dislocation core configurations under stress, and dislocation interaction with defects.

Mechanical properties of nano-architechtured material like nano-porous metals, role of interfaces on mechanical properties

Mechanical behavior of silicon nanowire during lithiation and delithiation (onset of fracture).

Enseignement

Teaching from Licence to Master degree – optics, mechanics, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Chemical Diffusion, quantum mechanics, numerical recipies, molecular dynamics, finite elements… (200 hours a year). In addition of classical lectures, my teaching is built to develop the autonomy of students in their learning, thanks to small research or bibliography projects, or by using the peer review mechanisms.

Promotion of Science for attracting students toward  Materials Science: 10 visits a year in different high schools with PhD students, 20 lab visits a year for high school students.

Activités administratives

Fundings :

Sep 2012 – Sep 2016 ANR Grant # ANR-12-BS04-0003-01 BiDuL ’Brittle Ductile transition at low scale in silicon’ I raised ∼ 500000 euros, for a collaboration between experimentalists and simulators on 3 labs (IM2NP-Marseille, ILM-Lyon and Pprime Poitiers) for a total of 10 researchers.

2012 – Grant from region ’Poitou-Charentes’ 9500 euros for a stay in MIT as visiting scientist.

Since September 2012, manager of the first year of the Master degree in Material Science and Engineering.

Since 2009, member of the scientific expert committee of Poitiers and vice president from 2014 to 2017 (material science section)
