Biographie


1988/1989: Bachelor of Physical Sciences obtained at Bordeaux University

1989/1991: Master of Physical Chemistry obtained at Bordeaux University

1991/1994: PhD thesis in Physical Chemistry (Bordeaux University).  PhD directors: Dr François Carmona (Professor) et Dr Serge Flandrois (Research director at C.N.R.S.). Title: Disordered composites containing a high temperature superconducting phase: synthesis and physical properties.

1994/1998: Post-doctoral position at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium).

1998/2003: Assistant professor at the Poitiers University.

2002: Ability to conduct research defended  the 18th of september 2002 in front of the jury: J. P. Bonnet (Pr., ENSCI , Limoges), H. Dreyssé (Pr., IPCMS, Strasbourg), A. Recherche


Main research activities:

  • Synthesis and properties of nanomaterials (nanowires, bulk nanostructured materials, nanolamellar materials)
  • Relationship between micro or nano-structure and physical properties (transport properties, mechanical properties, physical chemistry properties)
  • Studied materials: Magnetic nanowires, superconducting nanowires, multilayered nanowires – Relation between the reduced dimension of the object under study and the scaling length of the physical property – such a project led me to work during 4 years with Pr. A. Fert (Nobel Prize in physics in 2007).
  • Studied materials: MAX Phases – Nanolaminated materials and related properties (mechanical and transport properties)

Responsabilities:

  • Scientific coordinator of ANR projects.
  • Scientific coordinator of industrial contracts.
  • Scientific responsible of scientific cooperation between belarus and France.
  • Chief of the Chemistry department of the Poitiers Institute of Technology (from 2009 to April 2012)
  • Executive Vice-president of the Poitiers University, in charge of research, April 2012-June 2016
  • Head of the department of Physics and Mechanics of Materials (start in September 2017)

 

Scientific Animation :

  • Member of the scientific committee of the French congress « Poudres et matériaux frittés », 2005 and 2013
  • Member of the scientific committee of the  « 9th International Symposium on Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis », Dijon, juillet 2007.
  • Organizer of 3 symposiums on MAX phases  (Pittsburgh, Daytona Beach and Houston, (USA))
