Biography


A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique de Poitiers (ISAE-ENSMA, 1980), Denis LEMONNIER obtained his Ph.D. and his Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (HDR) from the University of Poitiers. He is currently Emeritus Senior Scientist at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). After heading the Laboratoire d’Etudes Thermiques de Poitiers (UMR CNRS, 2008-2010), he was Deputy Director of ISAE-ENSMA for 9 years. His research activities mainly concern radiation in dense or gaseous absorbing media and the simulation of coupled transfers in convective flows. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, member of the Board of Directors of the Société Française Thermique (SFT), French delegate in the EUROTHERM Committee, and member of the Scientific and Executive Committees of the the International Centre of Heat and Mass Transfer (ICHMT).
