Development of a numerical model to evaluate scenarios for modifying the hydraulic structures in order to restore the good ecological status of water bodies of the river Le Clain in the territory of the urban communauty Grand Poitiers.

The water body of the river Le Clain has been classified in the lists 1 and 2 with respect of the article L.214-17 of the Environment Code, requiring compliance with the good ecological status of water bodies of transversal structures located there. The water body of the river Le Clain has been divided into 3 sections « Restoration of Ecological Continuity ». The section n°3, crossing the urban community of Grand Poitiers, presents 8 transversal structures. As part owner of transversal structures, Grand Poitiers is responsible for their compliance. The definition of a strategy for modifying the transversal structures comes up against the difficulty of assessing the effects of modifications on the sediment transport. To assist Grand Poitiers in this reflection, the team HYDEE of department FTC of the Institute PPRIME will develop a numerical model to simulate different modifications of transversal structures in order to understand their impact on the sediment transport. The numerical model will be built by means of the toolbox OPENFOAM in 2 steps. The step n°1 will consist in calibrating flow and transport models, implemented in the numerical model SEDFOAM by interpreting flow and transport tests performed in hydro-sedimentary canal. In the step n°2, the numerical model HYDROSEDFOAM will be used to built a hydro-sedimentary model of transversal structures, in which the flow and transport models built in the step n°1 will be implemented. With HYDROSEDOFOAM, a first study to be performed for Grand Poitiers is the transversal structure « Moulin des Cours et Scierie de Tison » (see Figure below). This weir is located on the Tison site which was redesigned between 2017 and 2018 during a landscape restoration to boost the tourism on the site. The futur modifications of the transversal structure will be numerically studied.

Le projet ARCHITEC est centré sur le développement de traitements optiques « très haute transmission » (traitements antireflets) via la technique de fonctionnalisation de films minces en géométrie OAD. Cette technique offre la possibilité de contrôler, grâce à un effet d’ombrage, la porosité des films et par conséquent leur indice de réfraction...
